Absolutely not worth it. This place is cheap for a reason. Lived here for a year and a half, trying to move out asap because it’s just too many problems.
People throwing flammable crap down the trash chute resulting in evacuation, several fires from people smoking in apartments and having to evacuate at all hours of the day several times within a month is ridiculous.
Then there was a run of people breaking into apartments for a while. Fun. Not to mention the trash chute constantly being... clogged and if you want to recycle or do laundry you have to go all the way to the bottom level and people are frequently leaving washers and dryers full so it’s very inconvenient. The pool they show in pictures online isn’t even there, it’s been closed for years.
Don’t let me get started on the management company. They scheduled several inspections for my apartment and on one of them I was gone for work, but I took pictures of everything to make sure nothing was amiss. When I came home (and I am a young woman that lives alone) I saw my closet door open and a pair of my underwear on the ground that definitely wasn’t there before. Everything is cheaply built, closet hangers peeling, knobs coming off the kitchen cabinets, just everything about this place is horrible. 10/10 do NOT recommend. ESPECIALLY if you’re a woman.

I lived at one of the apartments at the Charles Towers building for close to four years (the price is great and it's in a super convenient location). Through the years it is clear that the level of care used by management has severally deteriorated. Although the employees used to be great and helpful, over the years the current team has satisfied itself with dealing with issues by sending rote emails (usually riddled with typos because they can't be bother to proof read them) which usually do... not resolve the issue at all.
.
The south tower is not a non-smoking building so your apartment will always smell like cigarette smoke. When it doesn't smell like smoke it will smell like your neighbor's cooking as smells travel very well throughout the building. If you complain to management they will deal with the issue by sending out one of the emails I mentioned before and nothing else.
There are constant issues with the elevators (they always allow people to reserve them for moving etc. at 4-6pm which causes huge backups for the other elevators) and they have broken down numerous times which means that sometimes people have to wait hours for them to be fixed or use the stairs (there are 30 floors).
The worst issue by far, however, is the A/C - heating system which runs on water. That means that you either have access to heat or AC but never both. The entire building has to go through a process of about a week to switch over from heating to cooling and vice versa (this is pretty common in old buildings). The real issue is not that the change requires a week, but rather that when the seasons change, the building takes advantage of people not wanting to use the AC (in the fall) and the heater (in the spring) and usually leaves the residents to suffer (the leave the heat on for a while in the spring and the AC on for the fall) for about a month and a half before making the switch. I suspect they do this because utilities were included in the rent and they wanted to save money.
This year 2021 - the management team did not line up a contractor to make the switch (I am not sure if they were just negligent or if they forgot that summer comes after spring) and that has meant that residents did not have access to AC for the bulk of the month of May (where temperatures reached over 90 degrees). This lack of care on their part ultimately led to my decision to move out despite how much I loved the area.

My lease is about to be up in June, so I start looking for a new place and a change of scenery if you will. It is now the beginning of April, so I know it is a long shot to reserve a place so far in advance. However, just to my luck, I came across this place on the app and decided to give them a call. They were extremely helpful and had a perfect apartment for me that will be available in June. It was like a match made in heaven.
We still live in a pandemic world, so all our conversations... happen through emails, but they are so quick to respond. They provided answers to all my questions. The process is so easy and I am so excited to call this place my home.

Noisy environment, and when you report the issue to the managers, they won't do anything. Nowadays, there is a huge noise from the corner of N Liberty street and W Lexington street, many residents reported multiple times, they just sit there and do nothing.

I’ve been living at Charles Towers for the last 5 months, and my experience so far has been amazing! Charles Towers provides the convenience that I’m looking for. I work within walking distance of the building, so I don’t have to worry about finding a parking space downtown (it can really be a pain). Speaking of parking, the cost of parking can be a bit steep if you choose the garage underneath the building; but if you don’t mind paying a little extra for the convenience, it’s worth it. We have... a full-service grocery store in our plaza, as well as a food court. There are so many good things I can say about this apartment, but one of the best things is this: I love having ALL basic utilities included in the rent! In all my years of living in apartment buildings, this is the first building I’ve lived in that includes the utilities (even electricity). I'd definitely recommend Charles Towers to anyone who's looking for a new place to call home!
